The way Sikhs are following multiple god-men, deras, seminaries, saadhs, wandering minstrels and leaving their One and Only Authentic Divine Message in the Guru Granth sahib Ji leads me to think the Sikhs have indeed lost the plot.
Just look at this scenario that is playing out in todays Sikhdom....There are some who are fond of throwing about "seemingly clever" ideas..such as.. Attaching the Label Nastiks ( Atheists) which btw is the favourite label hung on Sikhs with whom one doesnt agree on theological points.. and then declare that these Nastiks. construe the phrase ..GODISNOWHERE to mean God is No Where....while Aastiks (Religious Fundamentalists) which btw is the fav self acclaimed label applied by those who oppose the Nastiks.. interpret it as God is Now HERE. In the Light of Gurbani - Gurbani Gyaan....This is an infantile as well as foolish thought. One of my Gurbani class students called it a "word illusion" just like the hundreds of "optical illusions" one sees on the internet u-tube vidoes , infantile and foolish individuals create this type of "word illusions" and pass them around. Ordinary magicians used to impress their audiences with sleight of hand..disapearing handkerchiefs and rabbits materialisng out of empty hats....all these have been replaced by the all encompassing U-Tube Videos that carry on this entertainement task in the IT Age..and an abundance of laptops on every lap has resulted in such word-smithies forging such clever word darts to throw at their opponents - hoping to score a painful hit here and there.
What is the most painful sickness afflicting Sikhdom today....undoubtedly and most correctly idnetified this "dukdee raagh" of Sikhism..the focal point of our problems.is the rapid speed at which we Sikhs are distancing ourselves away form Gurbani and passing the buck to so called Jathedars and Deraheads to teach us Sikhi and enforce Sikhi on us instead of taking the teachings DIRECTLY FROM the GURU - Guru Granth Sahib ji and Strengthening the GURU KHALSA PANTH.
The farther we go away from the GURU -SGGS and Gyaan of the Shabad Guru, the DIMMER we become and in the darkness we begin to "see" many other PRETENDERS who pretend to show us the way..thats when we see granths upon granths pretending to be guru/guru-kirt and showing us the "way". The SOLUTION is to GET UP and COME CLOSER to the TRUE GURU..SGGS and in its GYAAN - LIGHT we will see all "shadowy granths" disappear as the tiny stars disappear when the SUN arises.
We have gone so far away form the GURU...that whereas we only had divisions like Jatt-Non Jatt.in the 1940's...Jatt-Bhapa...Jatt-mazhbi etc....we have now deeper divisions like taksali-non taksali..akj-non akj, dhadrinwallah, rsarehwallah, pehovawallah,rooriwallah, tokriwallah, kambliwallah, ghorreewallah, gadheh wallah, vatooan wallah, gajar wallah mooliwallah, Ravidassi panth, kabir panth, etc etc etc and fake dehdhareedoms like namdharees, beas, sirsa, noormehliah, even Bhaiyahs form Bihar have formed large deras in Punjab and command millions of followers..literally its NIGHT in PUNJAB..and its Bhinneee rennerriah Chamkan TAREH..tiny "fake stars" are PRETENDING TO BE SUNS to light our way....and we have forgotten we have a SUN in the SGGS that is brighter than a million SUNS combined - bt we have covered it up with so many thick and thin rumallahs and surrounded it by so many Jathedras and Granthis who refuse to let us near as they claim MONOPOLY to the Gyaan.
The SIKH KAUM..the SIKH NATION must muster its strength and RECLAIM the Shabad GURU - the SGGS as the One and ONLY Legitimate GURU and march forward in the LIGHT of this Latest and Most Modern Gyaan that the Creator has bestowed on Humanity. The "CHOOK" is in US..the SIKHS that we DESERTED the SGGS in our MILLIONS....and refuse to tear up the "bedawa"........in Ananadpur only 40 wrote a Bedawa and then tore it up in mulktsar soon after realsing their mistake... and we REMEMBER them in our daily ardass...BUT what about the BEDAWAS we oursleves write DAILY when we neglect to follow the teachings of the GURU..refuse to listen to Gurbani and change our lives ? Who will tear up those bedawas for us...if we DONT take the initiative NOW.
Those among us who are taking a stand....and getting counted... worthy of praise for doing the right thing. Please keep it up. The Sikh nation needs more nidharrak parcharaks who are not afraid to call a spade a spade Its never about "numbers"...never was and is never going to be. At Vasakhi 1699, the Guru had assembled a huge All India turnout of exceeding 80,000. Out of that huge crowd of humanity the Guru called upon just FIVE and the FIVE that stood up to be counted carved themselves a mention in our daily Ardass and Sikh Pshyche as the BELOVED FIVE forever. Its precisely becasue of lack of good Parcharaks and a flood of half-cooked annparrh saadh tola producing hundreds of thousands of even lesser educated samjhdaar parcharaks, granthis, ragis kirtaniyahs that we are in a situation where the One eyed is King among the Blind. We have such a Bright Sun as the SGGS Shabad Guru Gyaan da Suraj, but we are stumbling about in the darkness with little oil lamps in our hands. These saadhs I I call them Snake-oil merchants of the Wild Wild west) are in the "oil selling" buisness...so they are of necessity to keep us as their "gharreh deean machheaan" or Khooh de daddoo and deathly afraid of the DAY when the SIKHS realise the Power of the Gyaan Suraj..and the oil sellers and their deevas have to close shop and go bankrupt. Gurbani declares clearly..ONE Creator, One GURU, One Message- no duality, no doubts. One Akal Purakh, One Guru Granth, One Gurbani.
